Perhaps some people could help refresh my memory?
Years (and years) ago, mages learnt spells from scrolls found on various npcs.  I can only remember a couple:

Fear had heroism
Dryad (or satyr?) in the magic forest had detect magic

What other scrolls were there, and who had them?

Fire elemental had fireball, old man in the preserve had icebreaker.

never saw icebreaker (wonder why heh) but ya i remember you had to get the scrolls before you could cast the spells… which brings the idea of other spells like that with tough quest (maybe per school) for extra spells..  or able to learn other spells.. permint or temp for boot (or 2-3 boots?) i think it would be cool.. like hellfire (but do other things) that only mages can use.. or possible even the ablitly to write scrolls (like wizs can do in DnD)

I don’t remember the icebreaker one, but sounds like it would have been too high level for me back then.

Who had the bolt spell?  Or is that the same one as Heimdall is referring to?

But I like the idea of learning new spells from scrolls etc.  Seems a much more fun way to learn spells than going to the mage guild.

Eldren used to be near Chancel, and he had the Wall Spell.
