anybody watching these games?  Canada hammererd the last two teams they played and I heard the US has a good team as well.  They play on Tuesday.  The russians, swedes and finns also have good teams.  Could make the second round a good one.

World Hocky Championships.  It’s teams made mostly from NHL players who are no longer in the playoffs.  IIHF - International Ice Hockey Federation - I think that is what it stands for.

Really though i might check this hockey out more to see if it lives up to the hype.  I really just need to get out there and play or try to play it.  I probably would like it more.  I am sure my sakting and stick handling would leave much to be desired.  Just not a lot of opportunity to play hockey down in the south.

sure there is, you just have to look, hell i can play here in charleston.. well if my leg wasnt broken.. just check out your local ice rings.. but the real catch to playing hockey is A. the ablitly to skate.. and B. cost of equipment… which B has been my hold up from every playing hockey, otherwise i would be in the NHL by now

Heimy, Hockey can be played anywhere.

If you have roller blades, you can play roller hockey.

since i don’t roller blade, I just play street hockey.

2 nets, 10-15 guys and some flat pavement and the game is on.  tenis courts work better as they are usually maintained better than parking lots.  For a puck they have numerous outdoor “hockey balls” but a tennis ball works in a pinch (and cheaper too).

Heh, I have played in a few street hockey tourneys where they force you to wear eq.  I had to borrow a helmet and pretended I had the rest, except for the can, I had that onh the outside of my shorts cause running in a can is uncomfortable!
