mage

Redirected from: Mages

Mages are the students of the arcane: spellcasters without compare in Moral Decay. In return for their mastery of magic, mages are not strong fighters, and because of their scholarly upbringing are seriously limited in their choices of weapons and armours. Upon becoming a mage, a player picks a school to specialize in and will learn various spells mainly from this school.

Note: the type of school you pick will determine the style of mage you will play

Noteworthy Mages include: Dalamar, Thumb, Illusio, Riddick, Shams, Anon, Saruman, Rob, and Aladrin.

Pros:
-class with the highest area of effect abilities
-class with the highest max mana
-you can just log on and play without much time required to get eq
-can be a great party member (dependent on school)
-variety of playing styles due to schools

Cons:
-huge downtime while regaining mana
-low survivability against high level opponents due to limited AC/armour/low con
-extremely annoying to play at low levels
-costly (for learning spells and alcohol)
-cast time can take too long against strong npcs

There are a variety of mage weapons scattered around the Realm, each with their own power and each magically keyed to a spectrum of levels.
