In MD, you have a certain number of times you can hit in a “round” or in a certain time. This number is based on the weapons you’re using, if they are 1 handers or 2 handers, as well as if you are ambidextrous or not. Typically, it is 1 hit per round (2 hits on a rare occassion) for a 2-handed weapon, while it is 2 (4 hits on a rare occassion) if your wielding 2, 1 handed weapons.

However, how much you WILL hit is different, this is based on your dex, your weapon skills as well as the opponents dex and armour.

Monks are different in that the amount they hit is based on the attack styles they choose, with punches hitting almost 4-8 a round (im guessing) and throws starting at 1, but being able to reach a 3 max.

Note: Barbarians as well as people partying with barbarians (or using special items) are able to go beyond the limits of 4 hits for 2, 1h weapons, or 2 hits for 2h weapons. This is through the use of the Barb ability, “Rage” which affects all party members, and the other ability “zerk” which only affects the Barb alone.

(zerk allows for an insane number of “possible” hits per round, however there are high costs for using that ability!)
